For the Croats the beginning of the 20th century is signed by a number of crucial political events. One among them, the foundation of Croato-Serbian coalition delineated new party-related grouping of so called "new course" politics. The new direction of the Croatian politics was accordingly recognized by (both) political and legal
historians. The new course literally determined Croatian orientation in the geographical terms (the turn towards the East), in the political terms (Croatian contacts with Serbia), in sense of civilization (the contact with slightly lower civilizational circles and more proficient
diplomacy). Almost in the same period, the new Croatian Popular Peasant Party, characterised by totally new social structure did indicate the entirely new perception of stated political grouping. The Article analyses the attitude of HPSS (Croatian Popular Peasant Party) towards the programme of the Croato-Serbian
Coalition.
